Sanlam has renewed its partnership with the SA Professional Services Academy as headline sponsor of the third SA Professional Services Awards (SAPSA). As part of the partnership, Sanlam and the Academy will continue to host information sessions focusing on trends in professionalism and ethics within professional services firms.
Two previous editions of the Awards have been held in 2014 and 2016 in recognition of the professional excellence of individuals and organisations across industries such as accounting, management consulting, architecture, legal, quantity surveying, and engineering.
The Academy, established in 2014, promotes professionalism in the professional services industry and provides a platform for interaction across disciplines.
The 3rd edition of the SAPSA awards will be held in February 2018 and will be judged in two main categories namely commerce, law and management on the one hand; and the built environment on the other. The winners of these categories will compete for the position of overall winner at both organisation and individual levels.
The firms will be judged based on set criteria, which includes their contribution to the profession, their contribution to the community, a commitment to ethics, a demonstration of customer service, the achievement of business and growth targets and their contribution to transformation. Individuals on the other hand will be judged mainly by their demonstration of leadership capabilities including implementing strategy, participating in mentorship, shifting paradigms and optimum application of available resources.
The awards include Professional of the Year, Discipline Firm of the Year, Category Firm of the Year, Young Professional of the Year and Woman Professional of the Year. There will also be special awards for lifetime achievements to recognise individuals with long careers in their fields who have contributed to the development of their organisations and professions.
